1. WOW. I EPIC HATE SENDSPACE. Stupid piece of junk site. I was uploading my tracked-and-ready Chicago boot when it DIED HALFWAY and now it refuses to even load at all. Bah humbug. I'll just have to share the madness with y'all tomorrow, I guess.

2. In other news, I am SICK. WTF WTF WTF. I spent all day apparently trying my very hardest to cough my lungs out through my eyes, which is only slightly less painful than it sounds. And then I started getting snuffly AGAIN. I disapprove of this in every way. How is it FAIR that I am sick AGAIN. I have spent, like, six of the last eight weeks incapacitated by illness of some sort - the two clear weeks being when I was in NYC. Evidently this is a sign that I should just move there now, since I MUST be allergic to Singapore/work/all of the above. Who's with me on this?! Sigh.

3. (That being said, I admit that I am actually more upset that I might ruin my audio on Saturday of VERY VERY TRES IMPORTANT CONCERT than I am at being ill again. I ADMIT THIS.)

4. Going phone-shopping after work did not put me in a much better mood. I must have hit at least ten mini-shops and asked after the kind of phone I need and just came away empty-handed each time. (Either that or I was quoted a price that I'd rather stab myself in the eye with a barbeque fork than pay.) Should I just give in and use a Nokia although I kind of pride myself on never having used one? Bah humbug redux.

5. Is it a secret that I love people who sing/belt awesome? BECAUSE ZOMG WHY SO SO SO AWESOME, GUYS. video flail )

6. I hate sendspace, my cough and work. However, I love my fandoms. Also, I adore Julia belting. Just, you know, fyi. Because she sounds like a DREAM. (p.s., I think I need to learn MORE about Farah Alvin. Who wants to educate me?!)

1. It's almost Christmas! I feel like I should have uploaded music for everybody - in fact, I probably WILL get around to doing that tomorrow, as a kind of Christmas eve celebration of awesome. I'm a bit lazy to do that tonight though.

2. Mainly because I am currently RIDICULOUSLY excited to be seeing Next To Normal in a few weeks' time. This interview with the incomparable Alice Ripley popped up on my Google alerts and pretty much made my evening. She talked about so many things! The new production, Side Show, her upcoming DC show (which I would so go for if I weren't going to see A Little Night Music in NYC instead...) plus, she fangirls Brian. A+, Alice, I approve. XD

4. Oh wait, I lied about not having anything else to flail/ramble on about. I think know I've been horrifically remiss in flailing about Julia's November Joe's Pub concert. Mainly because I was overseas at the time, and then other fandoms got in the way, and well, I suck. So I decided today to just listen to the concert all the way through at work. Good god almighty. GUYS. I've flailed about it before. I KNOW I have. But if you trust my taste at all (and dudes, if you're STILL reading my LJ after this time, you must to a certain extent, right?), you HAVE to listen to Julia sing Sara Bareilles' Gravity, because it is ASTOUNDING. Does anyone have good to okay photos of this concert? I neeeeed to make album art for my iPod, and I can't remember where (or even if?) I saw good photos from this.

6. Oh god, HOLY BELTING OF AWESOME, ALICE.

7. Christmas Eve celebrations at work tomorrow - which means epic amounts of food and no work done, which is aces in my book. I'm due to take care of my cousin in the afternoon, as his parents are only returning from Japan at midnight. I shall take him out for lunch (if I can still eat after inhaling turkey at work) and watch Bedtime Stories. WUT, NO JUDGING. I don't think I can convince my cousin to come watch me weep over Hugh Jackman's sexiness in Australia for three hours straight. So Adam Sandler it'll have to be...

8. I think I'll... go and watch some more 30 Rock now. I watched the Seinfeld episode from Season 2 just now and died of LOL. OMIGOD TINA. She is almost criminally adorable. Also, my disturbing crush on Alec Baldwin continues. I think I should just go with the flow. Also the ship, because eek. Jack/Liz!! XD

9. I'm still downloading music, in between distractions. You guys are all AMAZING. Fanmixes to follow - probably as massive Christmas gifts to the flist. :D

1. I'm not feeling TOO bad right now, but god - about an hour ago, I just wanted to curl up in bed and sleep. SO TIRED. I don't even know why; I've not been doing very much at work these days (thank god for that). BAH. This does mean that I'm actually going to do the unprecedented today: once I'm done with this post, I'm going to bed. YES THAT'S RIGHT. BEFORE 2.30AM, MAYBE. GASP.

2. Went out for a HUGE vegetarian (vegan, really) dinner with the family, as my aunt has quit her job and is heading off to Taiwan next week to serve in a mission over there. I tell you, if I'm ever going vegetarian, it will have to be in Singapore/Asia. Goodness gracious me, the THINGS they can do, the magic they can make, without eggs or meat! We had, to all intents and purposes, vegetarian sharks' fin, fish and beef rendang, among other things. It was insanely good even though it was probably all yeast and tofu.

1. Technically it isn't spamming if I'm posting on a new day for ME, right? IT'S A NEW DAY. Okay okay. I'm being spammy. Deal with it. ;)

3. My flail over Alice Ripley and Next To Normal continues to grow in leaps and bounds. I've been... stalking [info]smokeline (to her knowledge, it's okay, I'm not crazy!), and just found it insanely adorable how Alice had a bubble-letters phase when she was signing people's playbills at the N2N stagedoor. Mwahaha. She's so dorky, I love it. Anyways. I made icons with a couple random Alice/Brian ones thrown in to complete the set. Woe betide the day that I decide to try making anicons of N2N...

4. Continuing my Idina love from a couple days back: I'm sure she's sung I Feel Everything live on other occasions, but I haven't stalked Youtube enough to know when. I did get caught on a little loop when I was linked to her performing Roxanne on 18 Jul 08 in Atlanta though... and OMFGIM. SHE ROCKED OUT. SHE TOTALLY SANG, LIKE, MY FAVOURITE SONG ON HER ALBUM. ASLDJASLDJASDSA. 1:50 FTW.


5. OMIGOD. SENDSPACE FINALLY ALLOWED ME TO UPLOAD KERRY'S LAST WICKED IN LONDON. FINALLY. AFTER WEEKS OF BEING FUCKING EVIL TO ME. CELEBRATIONS - THEY ARE CALLED FOR.

6. And I forgot to add. I watched Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog yesterday but could not FLAIL because I'd just posted. NOW I CAN. OMG OMG. NATHAN FILLION AND NEIL PATRICK HARRIS. ILTHEM. They were freakin' HILARIOUS. (Felicia Day, I'm afraid, not so much. Did not like her voice. Not that Nathan could really SING either, but he played his part SO well, LOL.) Now I have to go and finish watching Desperate Housewives just so I can get more Nathan.

7. I've been quite spammy enough today, no? I was going to upload audio examples of Sherie Rene Scott proving INCONTROVERTIBLY that she is the most kickass thing about the Little Mermaid as a musical, but that can wait for another day. ;)

8. Oh also. Went for a run - half an hour, well done me! - and then chicken rice dinner. The chicken rice is inordinately expensive (like, five times as much as you'd pay in a hawker centre or food court) but wtf, it was SO YUMMY. Plus the restaurant has now moved to the 38th floor of the hotel, so there's a GORGEOUS view of Singapore town from way up high. Nice. :D

1. So, after a HUGE, yummy Japanese buffet dinner yesterday night, [info]mirime and I headed home to... errr, watch Wicked. *ahem* And it was, predictably, awesome. There's something about seeing the actresses sing THAT score - that irresponsibly written score - up close, acting the heck out of it even as they're, well, screaming their faces off. This was... the second time I've watched one of Julia Murney's performances as Elphaba all the way through, and was completely blown away as always by her incredible awesome. Especially the way she looks so awkward and gangly and just plain when she first appears as Elphaba, and then somehow becomes freakin' SEXY by the end. Cannot. Process.

2. So I decided to work on a Julia-centric Wicked pic-spam... which, uh, became perhaps a LITTLE excessive. And rambly. But it was fun. And filled with much pretty! :D

3. Dude. If you made it all the way through that, here's a little reward. This is possibly the funniest live version of For Good I've ever heard - Idina Menzel realises that performing the show for months and months doesn't guarantee that you'll remember... well, ANY of the lyrics, LOL.


The best thing? When Idina DOES remember the lyrics, she sings this song SO AWESOMELY. All different notes and stuff. And then she screws up. Repeatedly. HEE.

I guess I'm also going to be missing Tracie Thoms as Joanne - yup, she's apparently confirmed on her myspace or something that she'll be taking over the role later this month, until the end of the show's Broadway run in September. WTF. At least the last show is going to be filmed and shown in cinemas so I can watch Eden and Tracie belt the heck out of Take Me Or Leave Me...

8. Edited further to add: And because we were discussing Julia's Low Note Of Sex in I'm Not That Girl, I remembered her other Low Note Of Sex in a song from The Wild Party. HERE BE A CLIP OF TEH AWESOME. Check out how sexily low her voice goes at 0:15, and OMFG, growl at 0:23, and then belting with Brian d'Arcy James. 1. So yesterday, there was musical news of awesome FLAIL with 9 to 5. Today, my brain exploded from FAIL. Because news popped up on Playbill about Sir Andrew I'm-Completely-Crazy Lloyd Webber's sequel to Phantom - which is called, in a completely sad and dodgy way, Phantom: Once Upon Another Time. *weeps*

"The Phantom, having fled Paris, is running a freak show. At night, he crawls into his lair and makes love to an automaton that looks like Christine. Christine, meanwhile, has become a famous opera singer. But she's fallen on hard times because her husband, Raoul, has squandered their fortune. So she's accepted a high-paying gig from a mysterious impresario to open a new amusement park. On her first night in New York, she draws back the curtain in her hotel suite and comes face to face with her new employer — flash of lightning, crash of chords — the Phantom! Christine has a child, Gustave, but is his father Raoul or the Phantom?"

WTF KIND OF FAILCAKES SUMMARY FOR A FIRST ACT IS THIS. OMFG. IT READS LIKE A BAD BAD BAD  BAD FANFIC. An automaton that looks like Christine?! (i.e., A SEX PUPPET?!) A mysterious impresario with flash of lightning and crash of chords? PLUS a pregnancy!? OH GOD. I think the world might end when Sir Andrew finishes work on this... I would be laughing, if I weren't so horrified.

2. HAI Brian d'Arcy James & Gershwin = LOVE. British accent ftw. Plus voice of sex. SEX. Even though the audio isn't that great and this musical has the most nonsensical book in the world. Whatever. It's Brian singing awesome. (Side-rant: Why, in heavens' name, would people go to the trouble of tracking an entire show but NOT labelling the tracks at all?! This person split it right down to dialogue bits in between songs, but... NO NAMES. So I have to do it myself. Bah.) Fun times regardless. I'll do anything for new Gershwin music. And Brian, apparently. (EEEK. GITA AND THE POLISH ACCENT, LMAO.)

3. ETA: Pushing Daisies to premiere Oct 1. WTF. Two and a half months more to wait?! SADFACE.

4. Oh look, I think I'm actually going to bed before 2.15am!!! WOW. But I must, as I have to suffer through work before...

1.  It is near the end of another week. Which means, TWO WEEKS UNTIL I LEAVE FOR LONDON. CANNOT. WAIT. ASJDLSJFDLASKLDA.

2. Work has been made of fail, and will be made of fail for the week(s) to come. Emphatically NOT looking forward to it. Sigh.

3. Honestly I have no idea how I'm supposed to be watching all the shows I have to see. But now I MUST see I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change - since it's closing in July and it's always come highly recommended to me by a friend who shares my theatre tastes (well, mostly, she doesn't like musical theatre quite as much as I do *ahem*).

4. My iPod continues to be the death of me. I've been importing artwork all night - and have decided to lay down a couple of ground rules. Artwork only for official albums and cast recordings, which I can just copy and paste from Amazon or something, artwork only for Julia, Alice & Emily, and Idina. THAT'S IT. NO MORE. I swear it. HONEST.

5. I've been listening to Jason Robert Brown all night in anticipation of tomorrow's concert. I really hope the singers do JRB's songs credit.

6. HAI. I LOVE YOU SHERIE RENE SCOTT. In that vein, I promised [info]teh_maskmaid spammage of one of The Last Five Years, one of my favourite musicals ever - which I think I've spammed before, ha ha, but I'm spamming it AGAIN. 1. I think I broke the one site I found online with lyrics to Sing Happy. Apparently I've been visiting it so often that it decided to just die on me. RANDOM.

2. I'm in a ridiculously spammy mood. To wit, have some Idina goodness:


God knows she's had to sing enough dodgy versions of Defying Gravity to last her a lifetime (one word: techno), so it's nice to see her sing a really poppy, lovely version of DG. Actually, the videos from this event are pretty awesome. She breaks her mike stand in Better To Have Loved, bwahaha!

3. Iconage-wise, I am finally at Act II of The Wild Party. Which means I'm just about due to icon Idina in Life of the Party. I'm hoping this won't result in 2,332 icons.

4. Julia Murney singing She Goes - practically a religious experience in itself, y/y?

5. I have started making album art for my iPod. I am DEAD. THERE IS NO TURNING BACK. I KNOW THIS. Anyway. If anyone happens to want very simple but perfectly functional cover art for Birdland 2006 and Joe's Pub 2003...


6. I am a little bit obsessed with The Last Five Years recently. I was reading this thread on broadwayworld.com and someone mentioned that they'd put the entire musical the right way around in their playlists, just to listen to it all the way through in chronological order. Unfortunately, this involves me cutting up my versions of "Goodbye Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Rescue You", which upsets me greatly. I'll probably end up doing it at some point, though, just so I can make that playlist. Fingers and toes and everything crossed that the Jason Robert Brown concert I'm going for on Friday will be good. And that whoever sings I Can Do Better Than That - if someone sings it - can belt the crap out of that song the way Sherie, Julia and Lauren do...

7. Edited to add: No one is allowed to marry Brian d'Arcy James except me. NO ONE. I just listened to him singing Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas from his Christmas album. I LOVE HIM. AND HIS VOICE. And oh god, now I am actually looking forward to Shrek on Broadway. Even though it could very very well be dire (I am SO not optimistic that it'll be any good), at least it's him, and Sutton, and LIVE. ASKLDJADJLSA.

1. FLAIL. SO MY TWO FANDOMS ERUPT AT THE SAME TIME. SEISMICALLY. THIS IS INSANITY. CANNOT STAY ON TOP. BUT, AM FLAILY.

2. HOUSE. ASKLDJALSJDLASJDLASDJLASDAS. PROMOS. NEW SCENES. CANNOT DEAL. LIKE, YOU KNOW, CUDDY. WITH THE TANK TOP AND THE SEXY AND THE "PLEASE SIGN HERE". THERE SHALL BE FLAILAGE. THERE WILL BE, I PROMISE. But I'm afraid that this had to take second place to my other fandom of the moment...

3. THE RELEASE OF HQ PRESS REELS OF THE WILD PARTY OMG OMG. Thanks to the lovely [info]irnbruise, who gifted the press reels, Julia Murney and Idina Menzel fangirls across the world - well, across LJ, at any rate - have FINALLY had the opportunity to see a freakin' awesome live performance by these two ladies in what is surely one of the best musicals ever written. IT HAS BEEN EIGHT YEARS, PEOPLE. This stuff has been hidden from view for the better part of eight years. Thank god I've only been a Julia fan for two-three months, or I imagine my brain would have imploded today after finally getting such undeniably awesome Wild Party crack. Even so, I was basically a complete wreck and totally useless at work all day, but the marvellous [info]weazel_luv was kind enough to sustain me throughout the work day by posting a pic-spam of epic win (see here - warning, NSFW! Julia in her skivvies, LOL!). I rushed home like a crazy person to download and watch (and make icons, which is what I've been doing all night, omg!). MUCH FLAILING ENSUES IN TEH CUT.
