2. WORK IS MADE OF FAIL. Seriously now. I should not be awake at 3.07am, but I am. And I have to be back at work in far too few hours, rewriting an entire paper again. After I left at about 1am. D: D: HORRORS.

3. GOOD THING MY FANDOMS MAKE UP FOR THE LOUSY. OMG seriously there has been SOOO much random lollerskating/random flailworthiness involved in my fandoms over the last couple of days:

a. It was just Meryl's 60th birthday on June 22! :) I missed it, because I suck big time, but [info]girlie_girl_23 didn't and her lovely tribute is here.

b. Next To Normal: The Abridged Script <-- omg I howled laughing at this, especially the way ALICE RIPLEY always and only refers to herself in the third person as ALICE RIPLEY, and Bobby, poor guy. *weeps*

c. Random thought: Alice is actual going to be bereft when her FB account reaches its maximum number of users, isn't she...!? And that's coming up soon, she just needs, like, 2,000 more people...

d. Official site for Julia's upcoming show - the Cy Coleman revue. She is looking classy. David's goatee, on the other hand, amuses me far more than it really should. So who's going to see this, other than Not Me?

e. OMG the Wonderettes universe is going to expand! - I swear I flailed when I got that google alert: now we get the story from the point of view of the Crooning Crabcakes! I'm hoping it includes - other than Billy Ray - Johnny and Richie as well, so there'll be shout-outs to my Wonderettes. ♥

f. And as a perfect example of how my life is full of random lollerskaty flail, guess what show's coming to Singapore in August? CLEARLY I would rather be watching Beth in this show in Aspen (OH GOD I WANT TO GO SO BADLY), but I guess I can make do with a local production of Spelling Bee. SO RANDOM A COINCIDENCE, AMIRITE?? It's the last show I thought would get a run here, just because it's not well-known at all (usually we get Phantom or Les Miz or some such well-worn chestnut of a show, ad nauseum).

g. Also, I got this comment on one of my random House!flail posts and was ridiculously amused. I can't decide if poster was being sarcastic, LOL.

4. Also, I think I am legit insane. Today I decided to embark on a flail project of complete insanity. OMG. Details... at some later point. XD BUT THE PROSPECT OF IT EXCITES ME.

5. How is it that I am wide awake NOW, when I am flailing, but will be half-dead when I'm at work, trying to work? Urgh. I PROMISE TO CATCH UP ON COMMENTS SOMETIME IN THIS MILLENNIUM.

1. It's almost Christmas! I feel like I should have uploaded music for everybody - in fact, I probably WILL get around to doing that tomorrow, as a kind of Christmas eve celebration of awesome. I'm a bit lazy to do that tonight though.

2. Mainly because I am currently RIDICULOUSLY excited to be seeing Next To Normal in a few weeks' time. This interview with the incomparable Alice Ripley popped up on my Google alerts and pretty much made my evening. She talked about so many things! The new production, Side Show, her upcoming DC show (which I would so go for if I weren't going to see A Little Night Music in NYC instead...) plus, she fangirls Brian. A+, Alice, I approve. XD

4. Oh wait, I lied about not having anything else to flail/ramble on about. I think know I've been horrifically remiss in flailing about Julia's November Joe's Pub concert. Mainly because I was overseas at the time, and then other fandoms got in the way, and well, I suck. So I decided today to just listen to the concert all the way through at work. Good god almighty. GUYS. I've flailed about it before. I KNOW I have. But if you trust my taste at all (and dudes, if you're STILL reading my LJ after this time, you must to a certain extent, right?), you HAVE to listen to Julia sing Sara Bareilles' Gravity, because it is ASTOUNDING. Does anyone have good to okay photos of this concert? I neeeeed to make album art for my iPod, and I can't remember where (or even if?) I saw good photos from this.

6. Oh god, HOLY BELTING OF AWESOME, ALICE.

7. Christmas Eve celebrations at work tomorrow - which means epic amounts of food and no work done, which is aces in my book. I'm due to take care of my cousin in the afternoon, as his parents are only returning from Japan at midnight. I shall take him out for lunch (if I can still eat after inhaling turkey at work) and watch Bedtime Stories. WUT, NO JUDGING. I don't think I can convince my cousin to come watch me weep over Hugh Jackman's sexiness in Australia for three hours straight. So Adam Sandler it'll have to be...

8. I think I'll... go and watch some more 30 Rock now. I watched the Seinfeld episode from Season 2 just now and died of LOL. OMIGOD TINA. She is almost criminally adorable. Also, my disturbing crush on Alec Baldwin continues. I think I should just go with the flow. Also the ship, because eek. Jack/Liz!! XD

9. I'm still downloading music, in between distractions. You guys are all AMAZING. Fanmixes to follow - probably as massive Christmas gifts to the flist. :D

1. Okay, thanks to [info]irnbruise? I am hungry. Also way too excited about January. :P This is so not good at 1.38am on a random morning in late OCTOBER COCKTOBER... <-- click click click, you know you want to! (It's old but it's new, kind of, and what is Julia doing with her FEET.)

2. Also, my computer freakin' HATES ME. At least it's busily done downloading House 5x06 (I WANT TO WATCH JOY NOW, except, oops, haven't watched three other episodes yet!!), but it's refusing to let me do anything else with a modicum of speed or efficiency. So, multi-tasking and chatting is out. Bah. I'm not even overloading the system with iTunes and Photoshop, WTF; it just keeps FREEZING ON ME.

3. Thanks, ALL of you, for your kind words on my last entry about how my life fails a lot. I appreciate the sentiments, and would reply except computer is dying. I don't really want to spam you all with comments days after the fact though, so just.. thank you. ♥

4. I have been in the spazziest mood EVER in the history of EVER. My bosses are still steering clear of me at work, and I HAVE been doing things, but in a ridiculously inefficient manner. I just spaz or sleep or... just surf the net instead of doing the day-to-day, not really onerous things I'm SUPPOSED to be doing. For example? We're actually supposed to spend tomorrow moving to our new office, and I haven't even started PACKING yet. So I envision a long long night staying back just to pack. Feck.

5. I think maybe it's... emotional fallout from the last few months of working like a crazy person. (That's how I'll explain it, anyway, rather than using the more plausible explanation that I am a lazy bastard.) Yesterday's stupid accident did not help my mood and I really was just... argh, last night.

6. So guess what I did tonight to get myself out of that funk? I so did NOT watch Mamma Mia for the fifth time. OKAY YOU CAUGHT ME. And... WHAT. DON'T JUDGE. It made me happy. Happier than in a loooong time. Plus it was great to see it again after a three-week break. :D I'm done now though - DONE. The main reason I went tonight was that I felt I COULD reward myself with a 9.20pm screening after work... especially since it's really not going to be in cinemas any much longer, I think.

8. I apologise. I get sooooooo flaily. D: Right now, I'm going to try and watch one House episode before going to bed at 3am (!!) so I can get all caught up tomorrow night. I envision icons from Joy starting to pop up anytime now (I'm actually surprised I haven't come across any yet, which is kind of nice), so I'm going to be strong and NOT FLIST TOMORROW. 1. Man. I practically spent the WHOLE DAY at work today yesterday FLAILING. If I wasn't flailing, I was sleeping, since I only managed to get to bed at almost 5am. *cries* I am such a lemming. And made of so much FAIL. Or is that FLAIL? Anyways. It was GOOD TIMES. And WORTH IT. Thank you guys, seriously, for flailing WITH me. That's always the best way to indulge in flail, and it was seriously the most fun I've had in EVER.

2. Tomorrow, in celebration of Julia!flail, I promise a NEW Julia fanmix - I need to put all my favourites of her newest songs on a CD for my car anyway, so I'll share my latest compilation with everyone. In the meantime, [info]timeofyoursong sneakily found a NEW version of this adorably dorky picture. It's so adorkable I couldn't stand it. SO. MOAR ICONS. )

3. Also! I promised [info]tamoshan this a loooong time ago, but was a spaz and KEPT FORGETTING to bring my CDs home. But! I finally remembered. Now - I USED to think I had a particular thing for female soprano voices. (See, for instance, my flail over Julie Andrews, Cheno and Winnie Hsin.) Of course, Julia happened, and she is pretty much as far from a soprano as anyone can get. But then I FORGOT. HELLO KAREN CARPENTER. I ADORE HER VOICE. Seriously I adore it. I don't think there are enough words to express how much I love it - how rich, pure and simply GORGEOUS it is. She had beautiful, exquisite diction, and I can't help but lament the fact that she basically starved herself to death and robbed the world of the opportunity to listen to that voice of hers for decades more yet. It's a tragedy, is what it is. Anyway - I had a minor flail period (I seem to have these frequently, y/y?) for the Carpenters last year, so went out and bought every one of their albums I could FIND. Especially to get my hands on Karen singing rarer tracks. So here are some of my FAVOURITES of the songs Karen has sung - and I REFUSE to give you guys the old chestnuts like Yesterday Once More or Top Of The World. Nope, these are covers. AND THEY ARE FUN TIMES. )

4. Urgh. Work is going to suck tomorrow. There isn't anything to DO, I think, but we're moving offices over the next week, I haven't packed at ALL, and even though we have a three-day weekend (Monday is a public holiday), I have this feeling I need to go back to work. At least on Monday. *cries* FAAAAIIIIL.

5. BUT I AM DETERMINED TO FLAIL THIS WEEKEND. I shall watch ALL the episodes of House and PD I've missed, and fit in movies and other random theatre (yeah, some local company is putting up The Wizard Of Oz, and my dork of a brother wants me to go, so). I WILL DO IT. Even with the fail of going back to work. YES. *determined face*

6. ETA: There's a cinema here that's STILL showing Mamma Mia at, like, practically regular times. Five screenings a day. *weeps* I WILL BE STRONG. I WILL NOT GO A FIFTH TIME. I WILL NOT.

1. HAI IT'S 5.25AM. WTF. And my Saturday actually got off to a kind of normal start too - got up just before noon, which is pretty good considering that I left work only at 2am! Now that's all screwed-up. Clearly a normal sleeping schedule is not something I am genetically capable of maintaining.

2. Great GREAT day though, first in a long while. I met N for lunch - we were SUPER CLASSY and had Pepper Lunch in the new J8 food court before we went to see Mamma Mia... YES, AGAIN. For me, anyway. Which makes Viewing #3. And it still makes me soooo happy. It's been ages since I've done this with a movie; I think the only other ones I've seen more than three times in the cinema are House Of Mirth (because Gillian pwns, kthx) and Chicago (because... I liked CZJ in it A LOT?). Would watching Mamma Mia AGAIN next weekend if it's still screening be excessive? Whatever - it won't be as excessive as the fact that, today, I AUDIO-ED A MOVIE. Yes. FAIL. Anyway: below the cut are the movie versions of the songs... because you know what? They ARE different from what's on the soundtrack...

3. AND THEN, I did normal things. Like go for yoga instead of nap, and go for a huge family dinner - N is on her way back to Ireland for school on Thursday, so we ate and watched movies and hung out in her honour. :D The food was incredible: it was supposed to be sukiyaki, but it turned into a huge Japanese steamboat dinner. We just kept cooking wafer-thin slices of beef and pork in simmering sukiyaki sauce. Mmmm. Also salmon and tofu and beanspouts and udon and OMG. Then we had gorgeously flaky apple turnovers for dessert. SO YUMMY. XD

4. Also, Singapore has gone F1-barmy! So many of my friends and family have gone for the heats or qualifiers over the last couple of days. The final is later tonight... and entire chunks of the country's roads are cut off and dedicated to this. Crazy - I can't imagine how being packed into the bleachers like sardines on a warm toasty night like yesternight could've been preferable to watching it live on StarWorld from the comfort of one's house. Especially since it's unlikely the cars will spend more than three seconds in your vicinity anyway. But what do I know.

5. I was retagging some entries and came across this epic post full of epic flail. My goodness, I've had a LOT of fandoms, haven't I? Reading the post made me soooo happy and nostalgic. Also, I've decided it's a good way to *ahem* kick off Cocktoberfest in a couple of days' time... stay tuned. ;)

6. Suddenly I have too many things to do today, and it's already 6.10am, argh. Sleep, obviously, is key. I want to go for yoga. I need to watch House. And Woody Allen's new movie. Also I have icons to make. AND I'm supposed to meet people for tea? I think? Clearly all these things take precedence over studying for the GREs. ARGH LIFE. WHY DO YOU PWN ME SO. :P

1. I'm not feeling TOO bad right now, but god - about an hour ago, I just wanted to curl up in bed and sleep. SO TIRED. I don't even know why; I've not been doing very much at work these days (thank god for that). BAH. This does mean that I'm actually going to do the unprecedented today: once I'm done with this post, I'm going to bed. YES THAT'S RIGHT. BEFORE 2.30AM, MAYBE. GASP.

2. Went out for a HUGE vegetarian (vegan, really) dinner with the family, as my aunt has quit her job and is heading off to Taiwan next week to serve in a mission over there. I tell you, if I'm ever going vegetarian, it will have to be in Singapore/Asia. Goodness gracious me, the THINGS they can do, the magic they can make, without eggs or meat! We had, to all intents and purposes, vegetarian sharks' fin, fish and beef rendang, among other things. It was insanely good even though it was probably all yeast and tofu.

3. My flail over Alice Ripley and Next To Normal continues to grow in leaps and bounds. I've been... stalking [info]smokeline (to her knowledge, it's okay, I'm not crazy!), and just found it insanely adorable how Alice had a bubble-letters phase when she was signing people's playbills at the N2N stagedoor. Mwahaha. She's so dorky, I love it. Anyways. I made icons with a couple random Alice/Brian ones thrown in to complete the set. Woe betide the day that I decide to try making anicons of N2N...

They were freakin' HILARIOUS. (Felicia Day, I'm afraid, not so much. Did not like her voice. Not that Nathan could really SING either, but he played his part SO well, LOL.) Now I have to go and finish watching Desperate Housewives just so I can get more Nathan.

7. I've been quite spammy enough today, no? I was going to upload audio examples of Sherie Rene Scott proving INCONTROVERTIBLY that she is the most kickass thing about the Little Mermaid as a musical, but that can wait for another day. ;)

8. Oh also. Went for a run - half an hour, well done me! - and then chicken rice dinner. The chicken rice is inordinately expensive (like, five times as much as you'd pay in a hawker centre or food court) but wtf, it was SO YUMMY. Plus the restaurant has now moved to the 38th floor of the hotel, so there's a GORGEOUS view of Singapore town from way up high. Nice. :D

1. So, after a HUGE, yummy Japanese buffet dinner yesterday night, [info]mirime and I headed home to... errr, watch Wicked. *ahem* And it was, predictably, awesome. There's something about seeing the actresses sing THAT score - that irresponsibly written score - up close, acting the heck out of it even as they're, well, screaming their faces off. This was... the second time I've watched one of Julia Murney's performances as Elphaba all the way through, and was completely blown away as always by her incredible awesome. Especially the way she looks so awkward and gangly and just plain when she first appears as Elphaba, and then somehow becomes freakin' SEXY by the end. Cannot. Process.

2. So I decided to work on a Julia-centric Wicked pic-spam... which, uh, became perhaps a LITTLE excessive. And rambly. But it was fun. And filled with much pretty! :D

WTF. At least the last show is going to be filmed and shown in cinemas so I can watch Eden and Tracie belt the heck out of Take Me Or Leave Me...

8. Edited further to add: And because we were discussing Julia's Low Note Of Sex in I'm Not That Girl, I remembered her other Low Note Of Sex in a song from The Wild Party. HERE BE A CLIP OF TEH AWESOME. Check out how sexily low her voice goes at 0:15, and OMFG, growl at 0:23, and then belting with Brian d'Arcy James. 1. I am back. Sad sad sad. But indubitably back back back. And yes, back to work in less than six hours. How is it that I am already back to my sleeping habits of fail from pre-trip? I mean, seriously - I slept more than I have in ages on the trip. Probably got 6-7 hours a night on average, if not more, which is GOOD for me. And now here I am, again. Heh.

2. Not jetlagged though. I could have slept at any point after I got home - about 7.30pm, which would have placed more on a normal schedule - but I've been flisting instead. As you can tell from your inboxes (hopefully), I've managed to get through ALMOST everything. Except, well, the ones that don't go beyond LJ's 1,000-back-entry limit. :P So if you posted anything pre-Tonys weekend (there was a DELUGE of posts that night, LOL), you're gonna have to link me to it unless I've already hunted it down myself! ;)

3. There'll be photos soon! I've uploaded some - and clearly already made good use of my Julia photo to create new icon *points* - and I WAS going to spam everyone with them today, but I honestly NEED to sleep at some point. It's terrifyingly close to 3am for a work night. Why did I not just take tomorrow off as well, dammit?

4. Was also going to spam [info]broadwayshare to gauge interest in any of my audios before I tracked them and/or released them, but that's going to have to wait for tomorrow too. You guys can tell me if you want anything of mine though. They're yours, obviously. ;) Tracking is going to take me forever, oh dear, even though I only plan to track SOME of the audios.

5. I really honestly super do not want to go back to work tomorrow. BAH.

6. Oh, and no Eden in Rent. Sadface. :( The understudy was good though. And I always weep like a baby at Rent anyway, especially at the I'll Cover You reprise. Guess I'll just have to make do with... other ways of experiencing Eden as Maureen. :P

7. I also watched Mad Money on the plane instead of something considerably smarter like Unforgiven. Does that make me a bad movie buff? I made up for it by watching Fargo and Out of Africa on the second leg of trip though - but I missed the last five minutes of Africa because stupid plane touched down 20 minutes early. :P

8. BTW, after walking everywhere in NYC, and getting used to it - even the blister has now thickened into a not-painful sore of some sort - getting back behind the wheel was so strange today. I hit 110km/h on the highway without even realising it! And came awfully close to... errrr, plastering the front of my car into the back bumper of someone else's car with my failage at using the brakes. BAD.

9. I'm going to go into withdrawal. I just KNOW it. To get myself over it? I promise more flailage and stage door encounter stories... soon!

My god almighty - I really REALLY need to be leaving the house, but had to post to say: I'm off! :) It was a crazy rush getting home from work (damn traffic!) and then packing and and... but it's TIME TO GO NOW.

You guys take care over the next couple of weeks. Oh, and you should totally treat this as an invitation to spam the hell out of me while I'm away. Anything fandom-related that's exciting? POST IT HERE SO I KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING. Feel like venting or just being spammy? GO RIGHT AHEAD.

And people in NYC - if there is even a whiff of Julia doing a benefit or performance outside of Saved!, please to be letting me know and buying me tickets. I'll go with you guys FOR SURE. ;)

Well, not really. I should be in bed as it's 2.35 am and I anticipate tons and tons and tons of work tomorrow. *sadface*

But!!

1. It was a good day at work, even with, you know, the actual work. Because I'm still hyped up on my New York flail, OMG. [info]alexia88 and I have been chatting for ages and just being all flaily and happy. (Plus, Alex, BIRDLAND = OMFG, AMIRITE?!) Seriously, this trip is the best thing I have ever done for myself and for my mental health. I was so down just a week ago about my whole work situation, and now I'm in a ridiculously good mood all the time. Thank you, Alex m'dear, and also [info]lfae, for flailing with me and making life all good again.

2. Also got my performance bonus today! For once, I felt genuinely rewarded for all the crap and hours I put in at work. Plus, it'll pay for my June holiday, whoo hoo!! Turns out staying 'til 3am? Might have been worth it after all... ;)

3. And of course my fellow Julia Murney fangirls - welcome to all the new friends I've made because of Julia flail, hee! You guys made my week. Actually, EDUCATE ME. Tell me random factoids about Julia! I know she makes a mean pancake, lol, and that she's a native New Yorker. Did she get classical training the way Idina did? Or is she just naturally amazing? SPAM ME WITH JULIA LOVE.

4. And I shall return the favour. You WANT to be clicking on the cut, oh yes you do... yes, especially you Julia virgins out there. Because man I love this woman's voice and there's proof right here.

1. First of all, I love you guys. I WILL comment later, when I have the time, but I just want to say you're all fabulous people and made me smile - not easy at 7.30 in the morning, I'll give you that! And I WILL flist properly later too, I promise - I saw so many things I want to comment on in my ultra-quick scanning of the flist, but can't since I have to be at work. Like new Hugh/Lisa/Jesse pics, and Edith Piaf video spammage from [info]yuki_onna90... soon, soon, I promise.

2. Guess who was just completely and totally exhausted from the last month of work? (Predictable, I suppose, but I hadn't realised it was THAT bad.) After Saturday/Sunday's 27.5-hour marathon of fail, I posted and dutifully went to bed at 11.30pm. But I felt so achy and ill and sick that I tossed and turned until about 5am, IDK why. I ended up getting up at about 8+ and struggling in to work anyway. What a waste of time, because I was barely there for two hours before I decided that I would be utterly useless the whole day. Sat through a meeting I could barely process, before I drove home - again, almost hitting god knows how many cars on the way back! - and went straight to bed at about 11.30 in the morning. I've since slept, more or less, 18 hours straight - scary, yes? I got up for about an hour at dinner time, when my grandma told me to get up for dinner. I only managed to pick at that though, since I wasn't really hungry. Then I went back to bed. So I haven't really eaten since dinnertime on Sunday and am now starving. But feeling considerably better for the immense amounts of sleep.

3. And now I must head off to work. Sigh. Back home to flist soon, I hope! You know I must have been exhausted if I couldn't even make it online the whole of yesterday, eh?

1. 27.5 hours at work - how's that for scary? Except for one hour when I fell asleep on my bed just now after answering a text message (yes, I'm that tired, I guess), I've been awake for 34 33 hours straight. Duuuuuuuude.

2. That said, this is one of the times when I feel kind of glad for putting in the hours I did, and feeling proud of what we accomplished. So, you know, go me and my colleagues! It was insane but we did good. :)

3. And that being said, I'm completely broken. I'm sitting here feeling like - IDK, I just walked into a wall or something, because I'm achy and spazzy and feeling just... a bit nauseous and tired. When I was driving home just now, after random giggly dinner at Blooie's, I literally almost drove into a parked car because I drifted off to sleep. BAD, Y/Y? So yeah, obviously, bedtime - even though it's barely 11.30pm!

4. That means no flisting today, except to say, THANK YOU, [info]lfae, ILU!!! *points at current music*

1. SO MUCH WORK TO DO AND TOTALLY NOT ENOUGH TIME TO DO IT IN. *cries* So because I had to leave work on time to make an airport run today, I'll be going in all weekend. ALL WEEKEND. :( When I would totally rather be, IDK, living the high life over in London with [info]medland and [info]alexia88, or hanging out in NYC with [info]jukebox_grad, or just flailing online with all of YOU.

2. Bye bye [info]mirime! I'll miss you. :(

3. After weeks of listening to bootleg copies, my official limited edition version of Idina's album came today. Couple of thoughts:
- OMG THE TOTE BAG OF LOSE. The picture on her site is bad enough - I would never carry someone's face around like that, sorry Idina, even if you look good in the photo - but the ACTUAL tote bag? ZOMG - the photo isn't quite as sharply printed, so it looks old and grey, for one thing. For another, because it's creased right at Idina's mouth, she looks like a giant Muppet. Totally unflattering and quite terrifying.
- THE ENTIRE LYRIC BOOKLET OF HER ALBUM IS IN CAPS, KTHX. IT'S LIKE READING FLAIL OF EPIC PROPORTIONS.
- Photos are pretty though. Pretty!Idina. ♥

1. It's 5am, OMG. I told myself I was going to bed early. EARLY, dammit. (By which I usually mean 2am, but whatever.)

2. The meds are working, sort of. I can confirm this because, when I take them, I am considerably healed. I don't cough as much or as spectacularly - phlegm is kept to a bare minimum - and because three (count 'em, three) of my meds all cause drowsiness, I've been sleeping like a baby elephant at random points throughout the weekend. This is good.

3. However, I was mistaken to think I was properly on the mend - it's just the meds giving me that false impression, unfortunately. This I know because I am currently at the tail end of one med-popping cycle (i.e., I'll be imbibing the pills in a matter of minutes), and they've all stopped masking my very real, still-right-there-under-the-pretense-of-improved-health illness. I am now coughy again, and the green gunk in lungs was apparently only temporarily banished. FAIL. I am iller than I thought. ('iller' is a word in a post that is made of spam.)

4. In the spirit of nostalgia: anyone else here ever read the Chalet School series by Elinor M Brent-Dyer? This is probably my one true book fandom - I remember writing fanfic at the age of ten or something, before I even knew what fanfic was and that other people did it too, about the characters in this series. Throughout my life I have gone through bouts of extreme crazed fangirliness for these books (usually when I've procured shiny new ones in the 62-book series - yes, 62 books, all of which have roughly the same plot but never cease to amuse me anyway!). And while I was cleaning up old Gilmore Girls fic for reposting, I realised I had CS fics on my hard-drive that I'd posted on a CS forum during one such fangirly craze in 2005 - not to mention an unfinished crackfic and one of the longest WIPs I've ever written. I SO DO NOT NEED ANOTHER FANDOM RIGHT NOW - but re-reading these fics, and seeing how I consciously aped EBD's style of writing (a fun exercise, to retain the same slightly stilted, British air while making it your own), really makes me want to finish up the ones languishing in my computer, dammit. Hmmm. Maybe I will. I'll probably re-post those old CS fics here too, for my own amusement if for nobody else's. ;)

A LITTLE HOUSE/CUDDY-RELATED PIMPING: [info]speckleberry has started a House/Cuddy Drabble-a-thon at her community, which looks set to be lots of fun. I expect this is where any spare capacity I have for flailage will go for the next couple of weeks. It's been a month since I've written any proper fic, so this is just the thing to get me warmed up again before we get new episodes. :)

01. I think I am genetically encoded to be a night person. If left to my own devices (i.e., if I didn't have to work), I'd ideally sleep at 4-6am in the morning and get up at 2-3pm in the afternoon. Seriously - dark-time is the best time for me. I HATE MORNINGS.

02. I'm also a terribly inconsiderate driver. I HATE SLOW DRIVERS WITH A FLAMING PASSION, and honk at them if they're not going fast enough for my liking - which is unfair, since I am usually breaking the speed limit. (60km/h?! WTH kind of speed limit is that?) One day I will get into an accident. I know this and yet I continue to drive like a raving lunatic.

03. In pretty much all the shows I've loved, I've always shipped canon. (I'm easy that way.) The exceptions being CJ/Toby on The West Wing and Ned/Olive on Pushing Daisies - though I'm not sure if I want Ned to actually be WITH Olive, so I don't know if that counts. (BTW, House/Cuddy is SO CANON. We are just waiting for our ship to get canon-ER, if you please.)

04. When I was a kid, I used to bring at least two books out with me everywhere I went, just in case I ran out of stuff to read and got totally bored with the company I was keeping. Even if there was no chance in hell that I'd finish the book I was reading at the time. Without fail - sometimes, three or four books. I'm more realistic these days, but have to have something with me to read all the time.

05. I have this thing for awesomely spunky, kickass female actresses, all of whom I'm still hoping to grow up to be. Lisa Edelstein, obviously, is one. But I've also fangirled GILLIAN ANDERSON, Allison Janney, Meryl Streep, Lauren Graham, Cate Blanchett, Megan Mullally, Felicity Huffman... the list goes on and on and on.

06.  Wackiest and worst thing I've ever done for work? Stay awake for 36.5 hours straight, 22 of which were spent at work. A weekend I will never forget, as I was out for dinner before going to see Enchanted, and was told to get my butt back to work. Got there at almost 9pm Satuday night, and stayed 'til almost 7pm the next night. WIN? NO. VERY MUCH LOSE.

07. OMG. So Idina's official site was revamped today. I HAVE NOT STOPPED LISTENING TO THE THREE SONGS ON THE MEDIA PLAYER - THEY HAVE BEEN PLAYING ON A LOOP FOR THE LAST FOUR HOURS. I need help.

08. I watched 101 movies last year! 92 of which I saw in the cinema. I'm doing well on the list this year - I'm already at 12 movies and there'll be many more to come this month alone... :)

MAN. I'm, like, totally functioning on three hours of sleep (not just yesterday but every day this week, thanks to the massive amounts of flail I've been engaging in), and I'm so sleepy right now. But I HAVE TO FLAIL. Even if 90% of my flist doesn't understand the object of the flailage! ;)

First things first, welcome also to [info]hazz23, [info]scullybabe626, [info]wildcatlizzie, [info]teh_maskmaid and [info]so_vieh! COME FLAIL OFTEN. I PROMISE I WON'T BITE AND WILL HAPPILY FLAIL BACK - ALL IN CAPSLOCK TOO. ;)

Second things next: [info]nitsa_maro pointed out that I am made of EPIC FAIL - I totally forgot to mention in my last flaily post ANOTHER reason for massive amounts of flailing this year - which is, obviously, that LISA EDELSTEIN SIGNED TO DO A MOVIE WITH LIFETIME WHICH IS DUE OUT IN DECEMBER, NEWS WHICH TOTALLY MADE MY LIFE HAI. The only thing that could make me happier at this point if we were told that either Hugh or Lisa had a cameo role in TXF2, LOL.

And, third things last: went for one of possibly the best concerts I've ever been to in my life, EVER. (And yes, there are two 'ever's in that sentence. IT WAS THAT GOOD.) I don't think I could adequately express the amount of sheer squee that exploded out of me during Jay Chou's concert here tonight. It was just... made of so much WIN.


In other news, the not-quite-sore-throat I've been nursing for the last couple of days looks set to become something considerably worse, very soon. Sigh. Not fun. Also, watched Cloverfield (not bad), and will be watching The Savages tomorrow. NOT TO MENTION GOING FOR JAY CHOU'S SECOND SHOW HERE. I AM SO OBSESSED = FTW!!

OMIGOD. I think my fandom brain just exploded. Which is fine by me, but seriously - I dropped out of the fandom almost five years ago now, and all it took was the explosion of the most gorgeous promo pics from the upcoming movie across the interweb for that burning passion and love I had for all things Mulder and Scully to be unleashed again. I've spent, like, the last THREE HOURS flailing and making new friends and just generally going off my head with XF witterings again. Reading quotes and episode titles and remembering episodes and funny moments and Gillian and David and asdflsjhlksdfhsdhdfalsk! (Edited to add: just LOOK at the pretty!!!)

So, like, I am also insanely addicted to teh Idina, if you didn't know this. (YOU CANNOT BE ON MY FLIST AND NOT KNOW, LOL.) Her album is coming out in 11 days, asfjasfljasklfjsdlfjsdlfhsldghs!! I doubt it'll be available in stores here on the same day, if ever, but still. It's just nice to know she's finally releasing it, and there'll be publicity and signing tours and live concerts, I hope! And gah, she's going to be signing copies of her record in Times Square on Jan 29! *ENORMOUS SADFACE* I want to go to NYC!!!!

3. HOUSE: is coming back soon. On Jan 29 as well, yes? BEST DAY EVER THIS MONTH.

4. JAY CHOU: OMG, I was supposed to go to bed BEFORE 3am for once so I'd be all rested for his concert tomorrow tonight (AND the night after - going for both nights, ftw!!). But here I've been FLAILING instead. I'm going to be SO DEAD tomorrow. But so full of flail as well - he's only one of my favourite singers EVER.

Oh GAH. All this fandom love and happiness is just so so fantastic and happy-making - not where my work ethic is concerned (I found the XF promo pics at work and spent an HOUR freaking out online when I should have been hard at work!!!!), but for my sanity. (Theoretically.)

*sobs a little with the amount of flail I have experienced in the last nine hours*
This is actually the least amount of capslock I've used in the last nine hours. I admire my own restraint, heh. ;)
